Chesterfield have extended Jamal Campbell-Ryce's loan for another month.Chesterfield have extended the loan of youngster Jamal Campbell-Ryce for another four weeks from Premiership side Charlton Athletic.
The 21-year-old has started six League One matches for the North Derbyshire outfit, as The Spireites surprisingly sit third in the table after their opening nine contests.
The Jamaican international's contribution to Chesterfield's excellent start to the new season has prompted manager Roy McFarland to extend his stay with the club.
"We are delighted that Jamal is with us for a further month," McFarland told the club's official website.
"The important thing was to get the loan extended for a second month, as this now gives us all extra time to consider what may happen for the rest of the season."
The news comes as fellow midfielder Derek Niven is also sidelined for a month with an ankle injury.
The former Raith Rovers and Bolton Wanderers player suffered bruising and swelling on the joint after being on the wrong end of a tackle from Mark Kinsella during their 1-0 victory over Walsall on Saturday.
Niven will have an X-ray this week on his leg injury, but he expected to be out for up to four weeks.
