West Ham are understood to be closing in on a deal for Charlton's Paul Konchesky.West Ham United are understood to be closing in on a deal for Charlton Athletic full back Paul Konchesky.
The 24-year-old is being lined up for a move to Upton Park this week, with reports claiming the two clubs have concurred on a fee.
Konchesky could cost The Hammers around £2 million and he is believed to have undergone a medical on Monday.
If that proves to be a success, Konchesky will have to agree personal terms with The Hammers before swapping capital clubs.
The left back, who can also play in midfield, came through the ranks at The Valley and has made 169 appearances, scoring six goals.
He has also earned international recognition after gaining his solitary England cap in the 2003 friendly against Australia.
But Konchesky has been on the outside looking into the England setup over the past two years and is poised to move to West Ham to revive his international aspirations.
Hammers boss Alan Pardew is looking to add to his squad after achieving promotion and the club's managing director Paul Aldridge has confirmed talks are being held with several potential new signings.
Konchesky could be the first of the arrivals in East London as he is tipped to wrap up his transfer before the club head to Sweden next week.
