Charlton midfielder Danny Murphy has been named Barclays Player of the Month.Charlton Athletic midfielder Danny Murphy has been named Barclays Player of the Month for September.
The talented midfield schemer takes the award from Charlton team-mate Darren Bent, who scooped the accolade for August.
Murphy has enjoyed an outstanding start to the new campaign, with his promptings proving pivotal in Charlton's rise to second place in The Premiership table.
Former Liverpool favourite Murphy scored both goals in a win against West Brom and was instrumental in Charlton's 1-0 away win at Birmingham.
Jim Hytner, from the Barclays Awards Panel, was full of praise for the World Cup hopeful.
"Charlton players are making a habit of winning this award,'' said Hytner.
''Danny Murphy is in the prime of his career, Alan Curbishley will be a very happy man if he remains in this sort of form for the rest of the season.
''The Addicks have been one of the success stories of the season so far."
