Alan Curbishley believes the rest of the Premiership have made life easy for Chelsea.
Charlton boss Alan Curbishley has hit out at the rest of The Premiership for making life easy for Chelsea.The Addicks travel to Stamford Bridge on Sunday hoping to breathe some life into the title race by coming away with victory against Jose Mourinho's men.
Chelsea sit a massive 16 points clear at the top of the table with Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal all trailing in their wake.
Curbishley is a big admirer of Chelsea, but he is disappointed that no team has posed a serious challenge to them this term.
"I'm disappointed with the efforts of the other Champions League sides to make this title more competitive," said Curbishley.
"It's down to Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool to have done something about this. The lead Chelsea have now got, those teams have got to be disappointed.
"It's more to do with them if people are saying The Premiership is not competitive enough and is predictable.
"Arsenal are in transition and Liverpool had a bad start, but you don't expect such a big gap after half the season. They should be making a better effort of it.
"Jose Mourinho has brought discipline to Chelsea. He has got a way of playing that he had at Porto and brought it to Chelsea.
"There's razzmatazz around him that he seems to play up to but the substance is there. They play like that week in, week out.
"If you don't do it - like Joe Cole found out recently - you get told.
"To beat them you have to have all 11 players on their game, especially the keeper because he's going to be called upon."
Curbishley also moved to refute rumours that Stephan Andersen is looking to leave The Valley.
Reports earlier this week quoted Andersen as suggesting he was unhappy at the club and looking to leave during this month's transfer window.
Curbishley insists Andersen never made any such comments and has called on the Dane to fight for his place.
"He's denied all knowledge of that," said Curbishley of the reports.
"He's disappointed that he's not playing after starting the season. I see it as a learning curve for him.
"The season is only halfway and we don't know what's going to happen. He will just have to get on with it and dig in."
