Souleymane Diawara has admitted that he is still coming to grips with the Premiership.
Charlton defender Souleymane Diawara has admitted that he is still coming to grips with the Premiership.
Diawara joined Charlton from Sochaux in August but he has been surprised by the differences between the French and English game.
"The way of playing in England does not correspond too much to my style," he told The Observer in France.
"The English style is more aerial and more aggressive, and the game moves more quickly.
"I prefer to play the ball on the ground but I will try to adapt.
"My objective is to help the club stay in the Premiership and to continue to progress."
Although Charlton are currently bottom of the Premiership, Diawara believes there is plenty of time to turn the situation around.
"It is difficult at the moment but there is no need to panic," he explained.
"We still have to play the second half of the season and we will do everything we can to get away from the relegation zone."
