Pards challenges Dennis

Alan Pardew has challenged Dennis Rommedahl to help keep Charlton Athletic up.

Charlton Athletic boss Alan Pardew has challenged Dennis Rommedahl to help keep The Addicks in the Premiership.

The Danish flyer recently invited offers for his services should the South East London outfit suffer relegation this season.

Pardew believes that on the back of Saturday's display at Portsmouth, Rommedahl is more than capable of helping Charlton retain their top-flight status.

"I look at him and I see the quotes he said and I am thinking 'Do it in a Charlton shirt'," stated Pardew.

"He did it against Pompey and if he carries on until the end of the season, he will be a Premiership player with Charlton."

Pardew meanwhile is confident he will be able to strengthen before the transfer window closes, but has hinted they will not be big-name arrivals.

"They won't be big signings. We haven't that much money to throw around."
