Lisbie leaves Charlton

Charlton have released five players, including striker Kevin Lisbie.

Charlton have released five players, including Kevin Lisbie, as they prepare for life in the Championship.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Talal El Karkouri and Thomas Myhre have already left the club following their relegation from the Premier League.

Lisbie, who once scored a Premiership hat-trick against Liverpool, endured an injury-hit season last term and Alan Pardew has decided to let him go.

Other out-of-contract players Myles Weston, Nathan Ashton, Rurik Gislason and Alistair John have also left The Valley.

However, James Walker has been offered a new deal after he impressed in loan spells at Bristol Rovers, Leyton Orient and Notts County last season.
