Magilton brings midfielder back to Suffolk

Charlton midfielder Darren Ambrose has re-joined former club Ipswich Town on a two-month loan deal. The former Newcastle man has returned to fitness this season following a hip operation last term and was a noticeable absentee from Saturday's squad for the 2-2 draw with Plymouth. Beleaguered Addicks boss Alan Pardew is desperate to add a few fresh faces to his ranks but has had to free up some finances first. Ambrose's move to former club Ipswich has done just that and Pardew admits he is now ready to make signings of his own. "Someone had to be sacrificed to give us the financial room to bring one or two in, and Darren was the option I've taken," he told the club's official website. News of Ambrose's departure will likely surprise some Addicks supporters, given he had started Charlton's last six games prior to Saturday's trip to Home Park. It is thought the loan switch could be made into a permanent arrangement should Ambrose impress on his return to Portman Road.
