Palace full-back joins local rivals on loan

Danny Butterfield has joined Charlton Athletic on loan for the remainder of the season from local rivals Crystal Palace. With Graeme Murty returning to parent club Reading for treatment after suffering a calf injury in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Swansea, Addicks boss Phil Parkinson needed additional cover at right-back. Butterfield has been allowed to leave Selhurst Park by manager Neil Warnock and could go straight into the Charlton line-up for Tuesday's clash against Doncaster. The 29-year-old has been in and out of the Palace side this season but played the full 90 minutes of their 2-0 defeat at Watford on Saturday. Despite Charlton's impressive point against the Swans on Saturday, they are 10 points away from a position of safety at the foot of the Championship.
