Nicky Bailey insists he would be happy to stay at Charlton Athletic if the club are relegated from the Championship.
The midfielder has impressed for the Addicks since joining the club last summer from Southend United, scoring 10 goals in 34 league appearances.
With Charlton currently 12 points from safety, reports have suggested that Bailey could be tempted to quit the Valley in the summer.
But the in-form Bailey says his past experience of playing in the lower leagues will stand him in good stead should the Addicks be relegated - a scenario he is not keen to contemplate.
"I've still got two years left on my contract at Charlton, so who knows what's going to happen," he told the club's official website.
"I'm a Charlton player until something else happens and I am happy to be playing for Charlton.
"I've played most of my career in the lower leagues, so I have no problem with going back and helping the team get back up if we do go down.
"We are all aware of where we are, but we tend not to talk about it. It would just put everyone on a downer, so I don't really hear anyone talk about it. If I did I would probably try and get them off of it."
