Phil Parkinson is keen to discuss the future with Charlton Athletic's out-of-contract players as he prepares for next season.
First-team players such as winger Lloyd Sam, player of the year Christian Dailly and goalkeeper Darren Randolph will be out of contract in the summer.
Addicks boss Parkinson is aware how far his finances will stretch and he is looking for a quick response regarding who wants to stay at The Valley following the club's failure to win promotion.
"The chairman and I are speaking to the lads and their agents this week," Parkinson told the South London Press.
"It's important that we get things moving quickly. We've had a discussion about the budget so I have an idea of what I'll have to work with."
Skipper Nicky Bailey is likely to attract interest this summer, but Parkinson has received no offers for the 13-goal midfielder.
"We haven't had any direct contact from anyone about Nicky," he added. "The reality is that one or two might have to go.
"I've always said I want to keep my best players and I'll continue to fight hard to do that."
