The Lions were defeated 2-1 by Wycombe in the FA Cup at Adams Park, but Harris still had a good game and hit the post with a last minute header.
Preston made a bid of £2.5 million for the 23-year-old striker earlier in the week, but this was rejected by the Millwall - who went top of Division Two last week.
"We were offered £2.5m by Preston and that was a terrific offer," said Mark McGhee. "But we think he's the guy who can get us promoted and we want to hang on to him.
"No doubt there is a price on his head that the chairman knows, and if someone offered that he would feel he had to sell him - like West Ham did in the case of Rio Ferdinand. But I think he probably won't achieve that price until he is playing in the First Division with us.
"He's a good player and I expect to see him in the First Division with Millwall next season."
Meanwhile, Preston are giving a week`s trial to Bulgarian striker Svetoslav Todorov. If he impresses North End boss David Moyes, then a £1.2 million deal could be negotiated.
