The under-pressure Hammers boss has made a new central defender his priority before the transfer window closes, but is still prepared to judge the merits of the former Watford loanee.
The 20-year-old midfielder enjoyed a season-long loan with The Hornets in 2001/2002, and has found his opportunities predictably limited since his return to Highbury.
With Arsene Wenger seemingly prepared to clear the decks a little, with Matthew Upson and Stephen Sidwell departing recently, it would appear that Noble is also surplus to requirements.
The England Under-20 international was a key figure in Arsenal's FA Youth Cup triumph in 2000, and has already impressed Roeder with his training ground performances at Chadwell Heath.
