The defender-cum-midfielder joined The Hammers on an initial loan deal so that he could feature in Wednesday's league encounter with Nottingham Forest, but has now finalised a permanent switch.
Palace chairman Simon Jordan explained the club's decision to let him go, insisting The Eagles could not afford to lose him as a free agent at the end of the season.
"Hayden Mullins has been a loyal servant to Crystal Palace Football Club and I would like to wish him the very best at his new club," Jordan told the official Crystal Palace website.
"We would always have preferred to keep him at Crystal Palace but he made it clear that he would be reluctant to sign a new deal meaning he would have left the club at the end of the season when his contract expired, as a free agent.
"The sale was in the best interests of Crystal Palace Football Club and the funds will be used to further enhance the squad."
