PSV Eindhoven winger Dennis Rommedahl has hit out at England goalkeeper David James for the wild lunge on Sunday that has forced him onto the sidelines.
James came racing from his line in a bid to halt a Danish attack but was beaten to the ball by Rommedahl.
Rommedahl took a fearsome whack on the ankle and has been told he faces three weeks of inactivity.
The winger feels James would have been given his marching orders had the game not been a friendly.
"Normally, that kind of act would lead to a red card," Rommedahl told BT. "But it was a friendly. I believe he knows it was wrong.
"I came first and he came last. There is not much more to say about it."
Commenting on his injury, Rommedahl added: "It is not that bad, we just checked at the hospital to be sure that nothing is broken.
"It will be a few days before I can touch the ball again, but we will have to wait until the swelling goes down."
