Jack has been looking for pastures new following his release from Championship side Reading at the end of last season.
Earlier in the month, the Caribbean custodian had a similar trial with League One club Blackpool before joining Brian Talbot's Latics last week.
Despite impressing in pre-season friendlies against non-league side Newcastle Town and Championship club Leeds United, Talbot (pictured) revealed the club were not in a position to offer Jack the type of contract he would have liked.
"He did very well, to be fair in the two games he played he couldn't have done a lot more," Talbot told the club's official website.
"You've got to ask yourself is he a number one or a number two keeper and I think if we're being honest, you'd say he was a number one.
"While it would be nice to have two keepers of a number one standard, finances dictate things and we were unable to agree terms with Kelvin."
With Jack moving on, Oldham have instead taken former West Ham United goalkeeper David Forde on trial.
The 24-year-old Irishman was released by The Hammers in early June and will spend this week with The Latics in the hopes of earning a contract with Talbot's side.
Meanwhile, Talbot has brought former Rushden & Diamonds chief scout Cyril Lea to Boundary Park to become their new club scout this week.
