West Ham are to give a trial to Algerian striker Abdelmalek Cherrad.West Ham are reported to be ready to offer controversial Algerian striker Abdelmalek Cherrad a route back into football.
Reports from Algeria claim that West Ham are to invite Cherrad over to London for a trial.
Cherrad is set to spend two weeks training with West Ham in the hope of winning a move to Upton Park.
Cherrad is currently without a club after being sacked by Ghent last month following a bust-up with team-mate Mustapha Oussalah.
The 23-year-old became involved a punch-up with Oussalah during a training session with Oussalah thought to be preparing to take legal action against the player.
It is not the first time that Cherrad has found himself in trouble as he was axed by French club Nice after disappearing for almost a month after an altercation with his brothers.
Cherrad was also handed a four-match ban by Fifa in September when he head-butted an opponent in a World Cup qualifier with Gabon.
