Hammers' double City bid

West Ham are believed to have agreed a double deal with Cardiff.

West Ham are believed to have agreed a double deal with Cardiff City to bring Danny Gabbidon and James Collins to Upton Park.

The Hammers are lining up a raid on the cash-strapped Welsh outfit and are keen to discuss personal terms with the two defenders.

Both players are Welsh internationals and their arrival would increase Alan Pardew's defensive options. Towards the end of last season, which ended in glory, ironically enough in Cardiff, Pardew was forced to rely on a rookie partnership of Anton Ferdinand and Elliott Ward.

With striker Peter Thorne joining Norwich City, these are depressing times for City followers.

Some reports are claiming that The Bluebirds are trying to stall on the deal with West Ham until they can draft in at least one replacement.

However, it is understood that Gabbidon and Collins are keen to secure a move to The Premiership and the double transfer, worth in excess of £2 million, could be completed soon.
