Paul Konchesky says Premiership survival is the main aim for West Ham United.Paul Konchesky says that he would be happy with West Ham United just surviving in The Premiership this season.
The England left back has joined The Hammers from Charlton Athletic and knows that the top-flight newcomers will face a tough challenge this coming campaign.
Although ambitious Upton Park boss Alan Pardew has targeted a top half finish, Konchesky says that survival is the realistic main aim.
"We had a meeting before we even went to Sweden to see what we've got to do this season," Konchesky told Sky Sports News.
"Winning three out of three means a big boost to us.
"We've got some more pre-season games and hopefully we can get a few wins there and take a bit of confidence into the Blackburn game at home.
"Everyone will be happy if we stay up fourth from bottom, but the manager obviously wants to finish a bit higher than that.
"He wants us to finish in the top half.
"Hopefully, we can do that but to stay up fourth from bottom, I think every West Ham fan would take that now."
