Tony Pulis has dismissed speculation linking Plymouth with a move for James Hayter.
Tony Pulis has dismissed speculation linking him with a move for Bournemouth's James Hayter.
Plymouth are known to be in the market for a striker, and have been linked with a number of players - including Southampton youngster Leon Best and Cheltenham Town's Kayode Odejayi.
But the Argyle boss told skysports.com that none of these reports are accurate and he is presently pursuing other options.
"We were interested in Leon Best but it looks like he's going to Crystal Palace or Sheffield Wednesday," he revealed.
"Hayter is a player we've watched, but that's not something we'll be following up and there's nothing in the Odejayi link at all."
He did confirm that he is currently scouring the transfer market in search of replacements, however, and is upbeat about adding to his squad before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.
"We've got one or two irons in the fire and I'm hopeful that we'll be getting someone in before next week," he added.
Meanwhile, The Pilgrims have extended the loan of West Ham United defender Elliott Ward for a third month at Home Park.
