Yossi Benayoun feels West Ham can continue to defy the odds in the FA Cup final.
Yossi Benayoun believes that West Ham can continue to defy the odds and beat Liverpool in the FA Cup final.
The Hammers, promoted from The Championship last season, have been a surprise package this term, impressing in the league and enjoying a superb cup run.
And Israeli midfielder Benayoun is confident that they can end the season in style by clinching victory in Cardiff on May 13.
"Everyone who doubted us should take a look at our season. We've shown what a great manager and a great set of players can do, and we're not finished yet," he warned.
"We believe we can beat Liverpool to win the FA Cup.
"We heard all the talk in August that we'd be bottom and in trouble, but now we've qualified for the Uefa Cup and are about to play in Cardiff.
"It's a great feeling and something I'll remember for the rest of my life."
The 25-year-old also paid tribute to the influence of manager Alan Pardew for instilling a sense of belief into the players.
"He told us at the beginning of the season we could win a trophy," said Benayoun. "I'm not sure we believed him, but maybe we should have.
"The fans have been unbelievable," he added. "We know how important this club is to them and we wanted to give something back.
"Now we plan to prove people wrong in the cup final."
