Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes has been given the all-clear after he was taken to hospital with a neck injury suffered in the second half of the 3-2 victory at Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.
Gomes fell awkwardly after colliding with Hornets defender Craig Cathcart in the 67th minute and was given oxygen during an eight-minute stoppage before being stretched off with his neck in a brace.
The former Tottenham stopper never lost consciousness while on the field and was replaced by Lithuanian Giedrius Arlauskis for his first Premier League appearance.
The score was 1-1 at the time and Arlauskis only conceded a late goal from Jordan Ayew as Watford claimed a crucial three points.
Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores said after the game: "I hope he's well but at the moment we have to wait a little bit more. He received a kick in the head, at the moment he has concussion or something like this."
However, the Brazilian has been given the all-clear after a precautionary scan and has travelled back home with the rest of the squad.
He later tweeted: "Special thanks to our medical staff, and also Villa's medical staff for the great treatment that I had received!
"Well done team, that did fight until last second of the game, and also to Arlauskis that came on in a very difficult game! Great result!"
Watford's next match is a home game against Norwich next Saturday.
