Plenty of summer transfer business has already been done but we've put together a starting XI of out-of-contract players yet to find a new home.
With over 600 international caps between them and a whole cluster of trophies at domestic and international level, these players could just be the wealth of experience that your club needs.
Mark Schwarzer is still without an employer - and his CV makes impressive reading. The Aussie shot stopper was part of the 2014/15 Chelsea squad who won the league - he received a replica medal despite not making a single appearance - and then repeated the trick a year later with his new club Leicester City, becoming a part of one of the greatest successes in English football history despite once again not playing a minute of Premier League football.
Schwarzer is a vastly experienced keeper with over 100 international caps, 750 club appearances to his name and is still as reliable as ever when called upon, even as he approaches his 44th birthday.
Arbeloa is now a free agent after a final season at Real Madrid which saw him make just nine appearances in all competitions as he fell behind Dani Carvajal and Danilo in the pecking order. A player who rose to prominence during his two-and-a-half year spell as a first-team regular at Liverpool between 2007 and 2009, the Spaniard then moved on to Real, where he contributed to La Liga and Champions league triumphs.
On the international scene Arbeloa was a squad member in the Spain sides that won Euro 2008 and the 2010 World Cup, while being a star of the Euro 2012-winning side as he started every game at right-back in a defence which conceded just once in six matches.
A sturdy centre-back with pace and strength, Caceres is almost a forgotten member of one of the greatest sides of all time, featuring 23 times in all competitions for the treble-winning Barcelona side of the 2008/09 season.
Caceres had been at Juventus for five years until his release at the end of his contract a month ago, contributing to five successive title wins. At 29 years old the defender is in the peak years for his position and if injury is avoided then he would appear a shrewd signing for many clubs.
The Ivorian may have his own song, along with his brother, but he doesn't currently have a club after being released by Liverpool at the end of the 2015/16 season. Primarily used as a back-up player during his time at Anfield, the defender still notched up 20 league appearances in the 2013/14 season as the Reds finished a whisker away from the Premier League title.
A vastly experienced player with 118 caps for the Ivory Coast before his international retirement in 2015, Toure was also a part of the Manchester City side who won the Premier League in 2011/12 as well as being a key component of the Arsenal title winning side of 2003/04, making over 300 appearances during seven years with the Gunners. What the 35-year-old Toure may lack in pace he can make up for with a wealth of experience.
Jose Enrique has a lot to prove to whoever signs him next after just 12 league appearances in his last three seasons at Liverpool. Once a first-team regular down the left flank, injuries and loss of form contributed to a nightmare few seasons for the former Newcastle man at Anfield, including a final year which brought just three appearances - all in the FA Cup.
There should be at least a few campaigns left for the Spaniard to get himself back into first-team contention and erase the harsh memories that recent years have brought.
Many Arsenal fans would have been sad to see Flamini leave the club at the end of his contract. A combination of injuries and extra competition for places following the arrivals of Mohamed Elneny and Granit Xhaka seem to be the reasons why the Frenchman and the club have parted ways for the second time.
The Frenchman made 66 league appearances over the last three seasons having rejoined the club from AC Milan, whom he left in the summer of 2008.
The midfielder is now out of contract after a six-month spell at the AC Milan following the suspension of his contract at Schalke in December due to disciplinary reasons.
A fiery character familiar to fans in England after a three-year spell at Tottenham and Portsmouth from 2007 to 2010, the man capped 15 times by Ghana has the eye for an extraordinary moment and can be a match-winner as easily as he can make a rash challenge.
The Czech playmaker has left Arsenal after 10 years at the club but his time in north London was injury-ravaged and he could only make one cup appearance in his final season.
When fit he has the capacity to be a game-changer - even at the age of 35 - and became the Czech Republic's oldest player to play at a European Championship this summer, having already claimed the record of being their youngest player to feature in the tournament having appeared as a fresh-faced 19-year-old in Euro 2000.
One of football's 'bad boys', Southampton's then record signing lasted just five months at the club before being shipped out on loan to Juventus due to a training ground bust-up with Jose Fonte in January 2014. Since then the Argentina-born Italy international has been suspended by Inter in January 2015 before most recently having his contract terminated by Boca Juniors in May of this year after an argument with coach Guillermo Barros Scheletto following an off-field incident.
Southampton fans will remember his wonder goal against Manchester City a month before it all went wrong. Will a club take the gamble?
Another temperamental forward, Adebayor has shown that he can be one of the best strikers around - to bag 97 Premier League goals is no mean feat. Adebayor has cut it at the highest level for Arsenal, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Tottenham, but his club spells have often ended with frustration or fall-outs.
His latest spell at Crystal Palace only yielded one goal in nine appearances and didn't persuade Alan Pardew to extend the offered short-term deal, leaving Adebayor without a club for the second time in a year after his release from Tottenham in September 2015.
Berbatov is one of the most skilful players around and can change a game at any moment - just don't expect him to run too much. The 35-year-old striker may be looking for one last challenge before he hangs up his boots, having been released by PAOK in Greece after a single season.
Bulgaria's record goalscorer boasts a wealth of experience with a cabinet including Premier League and Champions League winner's medals and a Premier League golden boot. There are sure to be more than a few fans in England who would love to see Berbatov for one last hurrah.
