Watford are not interested in signing Max Gradel from Bournemouth, according to Sky sources.

Reports had linked Walter Mazzarri's side with a move for the 29-year-old but Sky Sports News HQ understands the Hornets will not be pursuing a deal.

The Ivory Coast winger, who is currently on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations, has made just five Premier League appearances for the Cherries this season.

Gradel re-joined Bournemouth from Saint-Etienne in 2015 and only signed a new four-year deal at the club in July. He had previously enjoyed a loan spell at the Vitality Stadium in 2007.

He only managed to make 14 appearances last season after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury in August.

Gradel played as Ivory Coast got the defence of their Africa Cup of Nations title underway with a 0-0 draw against Togo on Monday. He was part of the squad that won the tournament in 2015.
