West Ham host Brighton on Friday live on Sky Sports with both clubs locked on eight points - but there is a huge disparity between the teams' values.
Both clubs have won two games, drawn two and lost five in the league this season - but Brighton occupy 14th spot ahead of West Ham on goal difference.
However, the Seagulls are the Premier League's second-cheapest team, fielding players with transfer fees totalling £58.7m, while West Ham's total is two and a half times greater at £145.4m.
Brighton's most expensive players include Jose Izquierdo (£16m), Davy Propper (£11.7m) Mathew Ryan (£6m), Shane Duffy (£4m), Markus Suttner (£3.8m), Anthony Knockaert (£3.15m) Glenn Murray and Pascal Gross (both £3m).
Three Manchester United players are among the top four most expensive, including Paul Pogba (£93.25m), Romelu Lukaku (£90m) and Anthony Martial (£57.6m), but it's Manchester City who have the most expensive team overall.
City have spent £652.6m - nearly 11 times more than Brighton - on the players they've used so far, followed by neighbours United (£573.4m), Chelsea (£430.1m), Liverpool (£298.5), Arsenal (£296.7m) and Tottenham (£243.7m).
The big six clubs are followed by struggling trio Everton (£225.6m), Crystal Palace (£165.1m) and Southampton (£148.7m).
At the other end of the scale, Huddersfield are the cheapest team with £50m of talent fielded to date, while, in addition to Brighton, Burnley (£73.5m), Bournemouth (£81.1m), Swansea (£89.9m), Stoke (£92.2m), Watford (£99.3m) and West Brom (£102.5m) all have cheaper teams that newly-promoted Newcastle (£121.6m).
In terms of punching above financial weight, Burnley (+11) and Watford (+10) are overachieving in the league table, based on their line-up value.
In contrast, rock-bottom Crystal Palace are 12 places below their line-up rank, while Everton have the seventh most expensive line-up but sit nine places lower in league table.
