Both teams are comfortably in the middle of the First Division table, however Gianluca Vialli would have hoped for much more from his charges this season.
Watford striker Heidar Helguson tested keeper Alan Coombe with a left-footed drive after only two minutes, however City countered when Ashley Ward forced Alec Chamberlain into a save only moments later.
Former Leeds United defender David Wetherall came close to scoring on the brink of half-time but saw his goal-bound header blocked, whilst Ward headed wide when well placed.
Vialli tried to shake things up at the break, making a double switch bringing on Tony McNamee and Paul Okon, however the players failed to make any impact in a largely disappointing half.
The visitors did have chances to win themselves and were unlucky when both Tom Kearney and Eoin Jess hit the woodwork.
The draw was a fair result for both sides, however a point apiece does little more than solidify mid-table safety.
Both sides played a fair contest with the only booking of the match falling to Bantams striker Ashley Ward in the last minute for dissent.
