Heidar Helguson scored the only goal as Watford beat Millwall.Heidar Helguson scored the only goal of the game as Watford recorded a first win in six games with a 1-0 victory over Millwall.
The Iceland international scored after the visitors were reduced to 10 men when Danny Dichio was sent off for two bookable offences.
Marvin Elliott tested Hornets keeper Paul Jones and Barry Hayles headed wide in the early exchanges before Watford came into the game.
Gavin Mahon volleyed over, Paul Devlin tested Andy Marshall from long range and Helguson headed over the bar from a free kick from on-loan Johnnie Jackson.
After heading wide, Dichio departed when he received a second booking for fouling Sean Dyche, who was injured and replaced by Danny Webber.
And with a man advantage, Watford took the lead as substitute Anthony McNamee crossed for Helguson to volley home.
Millwall came close to an equaliser three times, with Jones turning a David Livermore free kick past the post and both Alan Dunne and Josh Simpson hitting the woodwork.
