Lloyd Doyley hopes Watford can claim their first win of the season against Middlesbrough.
Watford defender Lloyd Doyley is confident that The Hornets can win their first three points of the season against Middlesbrough on Saturday.
The return to the top flight has been a testing experience for the Hertfordshire outfit so far as, although Adrian Boothroyd's men have been far from overawed, they are still awaiting their first win of the season.
Six draws from their first ten games, including a 0-0 stalemate with Tottenham on Saturday, has left The Hornets in the Premiership drop zone, but Doyley is backing his team-mates to end their winless streak at Vicarage Road against Boro.
"We set out with the intention of winning the game [against Spurs] but a point isn't a bad return," said Doyley.
"I thought we did really, really well in the first half but after half time we dropped off a little.
"It's fair to say we're happy with a point.
"We spent a lot of time working defensively all week, making sure the back four all cover for each other. It showed we've been making progress.
"We're now looking forward to picking up three points against Middlesbrough next week."
