Carlos Edwards' agent says he expects 'a lot of interest' in the Luton star come January.
Carlos Edwards' agent has told skysports.com that he expects 'a lot of interest' in the Luton Town star when the transfer window opens.
The Trinidad and Tobago international was strongly linked with a move to Premiership new-boys Watford during a summer in which he made a name for himself by shining at the World Cup finals.
Whilst The Hornets failed to raid their local rivals for the wide-man, with a reported bid of £450,000 falling short of The Hatters' expectations, the Kenilworth Road powerbrokers may have to brace themselves for a renewed assault on one of the Bedfordshire side's star men.
SPL giants Celtic are the latest side to be linked with the former Wrexham man and, whilst agent Mike Berry is unaware of any firm approach from Gordon Strachan, Edwards' representative says he is expecting a number of clubs to register their interest in the 27-year-old come the New Year.
"There was a lot of interest in Carlos in the summer, and for whatever reason there was not enough money on the table for Luton to accept," Berry told skysports.com.
"There's a lot of interest, I go around the game, there are a lot of enquiries about Carlos Edwards but you direct it towards Luton Football Club.
"There was interest in the summer and I'm sure there will be a similar level, if not more in January, based on his performances so far this season."
Edwards enjoys a very close relationship with Mike Newell, but the Hatters boss is still awaiting news of whether he will keep his job following an outcry over his comments regarding women officials and his amazing attack on Hatters chairman Bill Tomlins.
