Darius Henderson has hit out at Watford for blocking his move to Fulham.
The Hornets turned down a £1.5millon bid from Fulham for the powerful forward earlier this week as Cottagers boss Lawrie Sanchez looks to bolster his squad before the close of the transfer window.
As a result of Watford's refusal to accept Fulham's bid Henderson was forced to hand in a transfer request, which was subsequently rejected by the Vicarage Road outfit.
Hornets boss Aidy Boothroyd has claimed Henderson is part of his plans and that he does not want to sell the former Gillingham hit-man.
It comes less than a month after Watford accepted a bid in the region of £1.3 million from Championship rivals Preston for Henderson only for the player to turn the chance to move to Deepdale.
Henderson is surprised by the club's stance to turn down a higher bid and has accused them of breaking assurances made to him that they would let him leave if a suitable offer was made for his services.
"I find it very disappointing that the manager assured me, after accepting the bid from Preston earlier in the summer, that if a similar bid was made I would be allowed to leave," a stunned Henderson told
skysports.com.
"When I returned to pre-season training the last thing I had on my mind was thinking about leaving Watford Football Club. That was never on my agenda.

"Then the club accepted an offer from Preston which gave me the impression I was not part of the manager's long-term plans.
"Subsequently Watford have offered me a new deal even though previously they were more than happy to sell me.
"Fulham have come in and made a good bid and I would like to return to the Premier League.
"It is nothing to do with money it is about playing football.
"The manager at Watford earlier this summer appeared happy to let me go, but now he will not let me leave.
"Football is all about opinions and everyone is entitled to their opinion at the end of the day."
