Huddersfield Town have snapped up Anthony Pilkington and Lionel Ainsworth, subject to the duo passing medicals.
As revealed by skysports.com earlier this week Huddersfield had lined up a move for Pilkington to bolster their attacking options.
Pilkington has agreed a three-and-a-half year contract to join the Terriers from Stockport County, while Ainsworth will move from Watford on a two-and-a-half year deal.
The League One club will pay undisclosed fees for the midfield duo and manager Lee Clark is delighted with his double swoop.
"They fill the criteria I set out for players being young, hungry and good footballers," Clark told the club's official website.
"They can play at the level above this and beyond and there is a lot of room to develop them as players. They are outstanding young footballers at this moment in time, but they are hungry to do better.
"Once we had an agreement from their clubs it was quite easy. The players were very enthusiastic. We told them what we want to achieve long term and they bought into it.
"We beat off competition for both players from teams in the League above.
"I think people are hearing about the plans we have got here and what we want to do in the future and they must have been impressed by what they heard because we struck deals with both boys within an hour or two and in today's transfer market that's quite unique."
