Fulham have signed Sturm Graz captain Michael Madl on loan until the end of the season with a view to a permanent deal.

Centre-back Madl has made over 100 appearances for the Austrian side since joining from Wiener Neustadt in July 2012.

The 27-year-old, who came through the youth ranks of Austria Vienna, was included in the Austria squad for their successful qualification campaign for Euro 2016.

"I'm very, very happy to be here, and to play for a club like Fulham with so much history and great fans. I will give my best to help the team," said Madl on Fulham's website.

"For me it was an easy decision. To get the chance to play for Fulham in the Championship will maybe only come once in your life, so for me it's a dream come true."
