Reading have disciplined Paul McShane and Danny Williams following their on-pitch bust-up at Middlesbrough.
The team-mates squared up and shoved each other during Tuesday night's 2-1 defeat after Williams took exception to a rollicking form his captain.
Brian McDermott said after the game he had not seen the incident, but the Reading boss has since had a word with the pair.
McDermott said in a statement: "I've now had an opportunity to see back the footage of last night's incident and I have talked with both Danny and Paul.
"It happened in the heat of the moment, during an extremely tight game against a very good Middlesbrough side, but I have reminded both players of their responsibilities to both the club and its supporters."
