Fulham have launched a second bid of £2.2m for Standard Liege midfielder Ibrahima Cisse, Sky sources understand.
Sky sources reported earlier this month that Fulham were keen to sign the 22-year-old, who has represented Belgium at U21 level.
Fulham saw an initial bid of around £2m rejected last week but have returned with a new offer. However, it is understood the club could look at other targets if this latest bid is also knocked back.
The Cottagers want to sign a combative midfielder in January and, despite playing only 13 times for Liege since a summer move from KV Mechelen, Cisse has performed statistically well.
Cisse has also impressed in the Europa League despite Liege failing to qualify from Group G.
Fulham have targeted the Belgian top-flight for new players recently, signing Denis Odoi from Lokeren and Neeskens Kebano from Genk last summer.
