Huddersfield boss David Wagner spoke of his joy after his players kept alive the "fairy tale" with their play-off semi-final win over Sheffield Wednesday.
Huddersfield will play Reading in the Sky Bet Championship play-off final at Wembley following a 4-3 victory on penalties against Wednesday after the teams could not be separated in normal time over two legs.
Steven Fletcher's opening goal was cancelled out by a Tom Lees own goal in a tense second leg, which ended 1-1 at the end of extra-time.
However, Huddersfield showed ruthless efficiency from the spot, scoring four of their five efforts, while on-loan Liverpool goalkeeper Danny Ward saved from Sam Hutchinson and Fernando Forestieri, which meant Huddersfield's against-the-odds season goes on.
"We are in the final; the fairy tale goes on and we want to write the next chapter," Wagner said.
"We were able to manage both legs. At the end, if you play two games and you have to go to the penalty shootout, it says how tight and even the games were.
"I am so proud and happy for our football club. They can celebrate tonight. Huddersfield Town will be at Wembley.
"Huddersfield Town is one game away from the Premier League. Even if I speak about it, it sounds ridiculous, but it is true."
