The midfielder hit a cracking strike from outside the area to cap off a fine win on Sunday at Hillsborough after a mistake from Eunan O'Kane.
Gary Hooper had put Wednesday in control with two goals in the first half against their rivals in a game that helped relieve some of the pressure on boss Carlos Carvalhal after a difficult week that had seen them lose the Steel City derby against Sheffield United last Sunday, before being beaten 1-0 at Birmingham in midweek.
