Bristol City manager Gary Johnson was full of praise for Lee Trundle following his match-winning contribution against Scunthorpe.
The former Swansea City ace failed to open his Robins account in the club's first two league games of the new season, but netted twice in Saturday's 2-1 win.
Johnson thought Trundle's goals were of the highest quality and believes the win was just rewards for his side's work ethic in the sun.
"We knew Lee could produce those types of goals and that is why we bought him," explained Johnson.
"I told him before the game that there was no pressure on him and that we were looking for him to create goals as well as score them.
"Perhaps that was a motivation in itself. They were two wonderful efforts, but the whole team emerged with credit for battling so hard on such a hot afternoon.
"We played some great football at times."
Scunthorpe manager Nigel Adkins is confident his side will recover from the setback, stating: "We have a lot of character in our squad and we'll bounce back.
"We have been beaten by two great finishes. I am disappointed we allowed Trundle too much time on the ball, but you can't argue with the quality of his goals."
