West Brom expect Kevin Phillips to be back in action in a month, while James Morrison could be out for six weeks.
Phillips suffered a knee injury against Sheffield Wednesday last week and there have been reports the veteran striker could miss much of the season.
But, speaking after Monday's 4-0 win at Coventry City, Tony Mowbray offered an update on the fitness of the club's leading scorer.
"Contrary to some scare-mongering, I'm very hopeful Kevin will be out there playing for us in four weeks," the Baggies boss told the club's official website.
Meanwhile, winger Morrison faces a spell on the sidelines after being stretchered off with knee ligament damage in the first half of the win at Coventry.
Mowbray added: "James is pretty upset. He's going for a scan. He got his studs caught in the grass and twisted his knee.
"It's another injury we could do without. We've gone from starting the season pretty well injury wise to losing Phillips, Albrechtsen and now Morrison in less than a week.
"We just hope it's good news on Morrison when we get the results.
"It looks like it could be medial ligament damage, which would keep him out for four to six weeks. But we'll have to wait and see."
