Winger's goal-threat is sorely missed

Wolves' Michael Kightly may not be ready for a first-team return until after the Christmas programme. The England Under 21 international is facing another fortnight on the sidelines with the torn ankle ligament injury he sustained in the Black Country derby against West Brom at the start of November. Kightly has missed Wolves' last five games, a period which has seen the side struggle in front of goal. Despite his time out of the side, Kightly is still the club's second highest scorer with three and although he is hoping to be back for Saturday's visit of Leicester, boss Mick McCarthy admits that the club cannot afford to rely on a player who may not be around for the next few games.

Creating chances

"Kites might be another couple of weeks yet," McCarthy admitted to the Express and Star. "We do miss a lot with him being out because he drags the ball up the field and takes people on. Perhaps we haven't got that at the moment, but against QPR we created the chances, we just couldn't finish them."
