Czech shot-stopper joins West Brom
Championship pace-setters West Brom have signed Czech goalkeeper Michal Danek on a six month loan with the option of a permanent move.
The Viktoria Plzen shot-stopper spent time on trial with Tony Mowbray's Baggies earlier this month and Albion wanted an initial loan deal with a view to a permanent move.
But there appeared to be a stumbling block as Plzen wanted a permanent deal - but they have now accepted Albion's proposal.
Agreement
Welcoming the move, Plzen's advisory board director Miroslav Kriz told www.fcviktoria.cz: "Last night we reached an agreement. Michal Danek moves to West Bromwich Albion on a six-month loan with an option of a permanent move.
"The negotiations were held in a very correct manner. West Bromwich director Jeremy Peace as well as financial director Mark Jenkins have satisfied our requirements at the most and the transfer fee has got very close to our demand."
He refused to confirm if West Brom will pay the believed € 2 million asking price.
"The accepted bid consists of part payments," he said, wishing West Brom well to get promoted to the Premier League.
Albrechtsen deal
Meanwhile, Baggies defender Martin Albrechtsen is hoping to sign a new deal to keep him at The Hawthorns.
He would technically become a free agent in the summer if he does not sign a deal and hopes to do so, as long as it is "good enough."
He told the Birmingham Mail: "We have started talking about a new contract but we only had one meeting so it's still at an early stage.
"If the contract here is good enough then I will sign it but let's see what happens."
