Mark Beevers insists that he has no desire to leave Sheffield Wednesday despite reported interest from Premier League clubs.
The teenage defender has made 14 appearances in the Championship for the Owls this season and has received widespread acclaim following a number of mature performances.
The January transfer window saw him linked with a host of top-flight clubs, with Everton believed to be leading the race for his signature.
However, Beevers feels that first-team football at Hillsborough would be more beneficial to his future development than slogging away in the reserves of a team higher up the football ladder.
"It was nice to look at newspapers and have my friends tell me that there were Premier League clubs looking at me," he told the Owls' official website.
"Some of the time I didn't believe them, but I always felt I wanted to play for Sheffield Wednesday.
"I didn't want to move a really big club because I think when some players move to Premier League clubs their performances dip as they might be playing in the reserves.
"Here I've been playing in the first-team regularly so my development can progress over the next few weeks."
