Gavin Williams is one of several Ipswich Town players who could go out on loan as Jim Magilton seeks to strengthen his squad with new faces.
The midfielder has been unable to make Magilton's initial 18-man squad in recent games after injuries have hampered his progress.
Along with Liam Trotter and Michael Synnott, it is understood the trio were being watched by Luton boss Mick Harford as Town reserves beat Northampton 1-0, although the Hatters will not be able to sign players until the club comes out of administration.
Scouts from West Ham, Cambridge United and King's Lynn were also at the game.
Magilton has already indicated he is looking to change personnel at Ipswich and told the East Anglian Daily Times: "If a move came around for some of these lads that will help their career then I would not stand in the way.
"There are some that we hope to get out over the next few days or so."
He added: "I would like one or two people in. We are looking for favourites who we know can do it. If we can bring someone in who can help this team then we will get them in."
Magilton is thought to want to add an experienced striker and defender to his squad and strikers David Nugent and David Healy are among those to have been linked with the club.
On the injury front, David Norris will be available for the trip to high-flying Stoke at the weekend following an injection for a heel injury.
