Cheltenham Town have snapped up Bristol City's young defender Richard Keogh on a month's loan.
Keogh, who has already been out on loan at Huddersfield Town and Carlisle United this season, joins City team-mates Steve Brooker and Alex Russell at Whaddon Road.
With Cheltenham defender Michael Townsend struggling with illness, manager Keith Downing was keen to bring in reinforcements.
"Michael's illness has flared up again, so we needed to strengthen the back line," Downing told the club's official website.
Strong and committed
"We had an opportunity to get Richard Keogh and from what I've seen of him he's a strong, committed player.
"He will certainly help us out for the next month because he is a good player. We have been leaking goals away from home, so we needed to strengthen it."
Keogh, who scored against Cheltenham for Huddersfield back in September, could make his debut against Leeds United on Tuesday.
Cheltenham have also extended the loan of Brooker into a third and final month, with the striker having scored four goals in 12 appearances to date.
