Queens Park Rangers striker Rowan Vine is confident he can return ahead of schedule from a broken leg.
Vine has been ruled out for six months after suffering the injury in a collision with team-mate Matt Pickens in training last week.
The forward had impressed at Loftus Road prior to his injury and is hoping he can defy the predictions by being back in action quicker than anticipated.
"I just went for the ball with the keeper, we came together and this was the result," Vine told the club's official website.
"It's just one of those things. It was a bad tackle, but it happens - the major issue is to get back fit.
"The operation went well and hopefully I can get it strong and get back as soon as possible.
"It's a double fracture, so they've said six months as a guideline, but I'm confident I can get inside that."
