Scotland international Kenny Miller has completed a £2million switch from Derby to Rangers.
The striker becomes the first man to cross the Old Firm divide on two occasions, having spent a season with Rangers in 2000 and a similar spell with Celtic six years later.
Gers had been chasing the 28-year-old since Derby slumped out of the Premier League at the end of last season, refusing to buckle to supporter unrest over the potential return of a former Hoop.
With Miller admitting that he would welcome a second chance at Ibrox, Walter Smith has pounced for the talented forward.
The former Wolves man was Derby's top scorer during their dismal 2007/08 campaign, notching six goals in 33 appearances for a side which lacked a clear cutting edge.
With Rams boss Paul Jewell keen to rebuild his deflated squad over the summer departures were inevitable, with Miller always likely to be a potential target for top flight clubs on both sides of the border.
No-brainer
The front-man is delighted to be heading back to Scotland for a third spell in the SPL and insists that the switch was never in doubt once he had been made aware of Rangers' interest.
"I'm delighted - the smile has yet to go off my face," Miller told Rangers'
official website.
"I'm over the moon, it's taken a bit longer than I expected but I'm absolutely delighted."
"It was never in doubt. When I spoke to the manager about it a lot of things go through your mind but the chance to come back to a club like this and work with the manager and coaches that are here was a no-brainer for me.
"When a club like Rangers comes calling, it's always going to be hard to knock that back anyway, I worked with the manager and assistant manager with Scotland, just really added to it for me.
"I get on really well with Walter and Ally (McCoist) both on and off the field and I felt they got the best out of me for the national team. Hopefully that will continue next season."
