Lafferty deal thrown into doubt

Skysports.com understands that Burnley have failed to agree terms with Rangers midfielder Alan Gow. The former Falkirk man had been included as a makeweight in the Gers' £3million move for Clarets striker Kyle Lafferty. However, with Gow seemingly reluctant to swap life in the SPL for that in the Championship the whole deal has been thrown into doubt. Rangers have already confirmed that Lafferty has agreed personal terms at Ibrox, but he may not be able to complete a dream move to the Uefa Cup finalists unless a compromise is reached. Burnley remain keen to resurrect talks with the Gow, although it remains to be seen whether the playmaker has completely ruled out a switch to Turf Moor. The 25-year-old may still find himself in England this summer, even if the Clarets deal collapses, as the news has alerted Preston and Ipswich to his possible availability.
