Wins for Celtic, Wolves and Forest

Celtic beat Southampton 2-0 in Claus Lundekvam's testimonial, while Andy Cole made his Nottingham Forest debut against Offenbach Kickers. Saints stalwart Lundekvam was unable to mark his special occasion with a victory as SPL champions Celtic scored in each half. Chris Killen scored after 26 minutes following good work by Scott McDonald, and Barry Robson netted a penalty midway through the second half after Georgios Samaras was brought down. Matt Le Tissier came on for a late cameo for Southampton as new Celtic signing Samaras almost added a third goal. Veteran striker Cole almost netted on his bow for Forest when he struck the crossbar in a 2-1 win over Offenbach Kickers. Forest's goals came courtesy of Garath McCleary and Arron Davies, while Rob Earnshaw and Guy Moussi also played. SPL side Aberdeen suffered a 4-0 defeat at Peterhead, with Craig Gunn, Martin Bavidge, Bobby Mann and Konrad Kozminski on target for the Second Division club. Wolves secured a 4-1 victory at non-league Chasetown in their latest friendly, with Elliott Bennett and Stephen Elliott grabbing two goals apiece. Plymouth Argyle twice came from behind to draw 2-2 at Kidderminster Harriers, with Jamie Mackie heading the Championship club level on each occasion. Bristol City's pre-season trip to Portugal concluded with a 1-0 defeat to Rushden & Diamonds, with Dean McDonald scoring the game's only goal. Cheltenham Town's fifth friendly of pre-season ended with a 0-0 draw against Telford.
