Talk of a Cousin in part exchange for Loovens deal rejected

Cardiff City have rejected claims that the club have held talks with Rangers over a deal for Daniel Cousin in part exchange for Glenn Loovens. Loovens has been tipped to leave Championship side Cardiff this summer with Gers boss Walter Smith keen to add the 24-year-old Dutchman to his ranks. The Bluebirds have stated they will only consider letting Loovens leave for their reported asking price of £3million, however recent reports suggested Cousin could be included as part of the transfer. But Cardiff have denied the rumours, insisting that an exchange deal including Cousin, who almost left Gers in January, is not in the offing. A statement on the club's official website read: "Despite media speculation, there are no ongoing discussions with Glasgow Rangers Football Club for Glenn Loovens to move to Ibrox in exchange for any Glasgow Rangers players coming to Ninian Park."
