Wolves defender starts on long road back

Wolves full-back George Elokobi has vowed to keep a smile on his face as he battles back to full fitness. The Cameroonian has been ruled out for the entire season after suffering knee ligament damage in the win at Ipswich at the end of August. Having undergone surgery to repair the damage, the former Colchester defender faces a lengthy road back to full fitness. But Elokobi is refusing to let his misfortune get him down and has vowed to follow the instructions of the Wolves medical team throughout his recovery.

Support

He told the Birmingham Mail: "It's not going to be a problem. I have accepted the situation and I've got a smile on my face. "It is going to be hard sometimes but these things happen in football. You can't go through your football career without major injury. Now it's my turn and I have got to deal with it. There is plenty of time. "I have to listen to what the physios have to say and take it on board. "It comes down to communication between me and the physios - if I'm not feeling right to push myself too hard then I need to let them know. "And they need to know when I'm feeling right. They don't need to tell me what to do because I'll do it. "Everyone wants to see me back and playing and their support has been second to none."
