Swansea goalkeeper Dorus de Vries faces a spell on the sidelines after fracturing his jaw and cheekbone.
The Dutchman sustained the double fracture during Tuesday's goalless draw with Queens Park Rangers.
The injury occurred after a challenge with Rangers midfielder Martin Rowlands and De Vries was forced to be stretchered off.
Scans have shown De Vries suffered a hairline jaw fracture as well as a cheekbone fracture and he has undergone surgery.
The injury is likely to sideline De Vries for up to six weeks and the news is a major blow for Swans boss Roberto Martinez.
